Based on the Academic Procrastination Scale developed by Kameda &\nFuruya( 1996), new four scales( academic task aversiveness, procrastination, loss of organization, and\nbehavioral failures) were designed. New scales, Big Five Inventory, Multidimensional Self-oriented\nPerfectionism Scale and Multidimensional Optimism Assessment Inventory were administered to 150\nuniversity students. Hypotheses were formulated to test the relationship. Multiple regression analysis\nshowed that conscientiousness negatively predicted academic task aversiveness, procrastination, loss\nof organization and behavioral failures, and openness to experience negatively predicted academic task\naversiveness. A path analysis revealed that Neuroticism positively correlated with“ Concern over Mistakes”\nwhich positively predicted academic task aversiveness.
