| 内容記述 | Two major points of tension can be observed in English education: How to first deal with the need to provide review within limited class time while also providing opportunities for students to practice the skills being studied, and how to second deal with the need to provide worthwhile and meaningful out of class study while also not creating significant workloads for already harried teachers. One way to deal with these problems that has drawn attention in recent years is to flip the classroom: That is, to put review and passive study activities outside of the classroom as homework assignments, thus enabling teachers to dedicate more time to active and productive exercises in class. This article reports on one such attempt to flip the classroom in a required speaking class, including how it was done. More specifically, I describe how I provided students with video lessons embedded in Google Forms; how I planned, created and used them; and what kinds of problems were experienced. In doing so, this article provides insight into why one might want to flip the classroom, and how it can be done. |

| 内容記述 | 英語教育においては主に二つの大きな問題が見られる。一つ目は、限られている授業時間の中で必要 なレビューを取りながら、練習の機会をより多く用意し、バランスの取れた授業計画をすることである。 二つ目は、授業外の学習を有効に促進するために、有意義な課題を提供することが重要だが、その採点 に追われるハメに陥る過程である。近年においては、上記の問題への対応法の一つとして反転授業にす るという方法が普及している。本論では、筆者が施行した英語授業における反転授業の試みを概説する。 具体的に、Google Forms を用いたビデオ課題を作成したが、その企画と実用法を説明しながら、実際に 出遭った問題点も振り返り、英語教育における反転授業の可能性を考察する。 |
