内容記述 Climatological observations were carried out in order to make clear the relation between the air temperature distribution and the density of houses at Washinomiya City in the northeast of Saitama Prefecture, during the period from April to November, 1971. At the time of these observations, Washinomiya City was a small city surrounded by rice-paddy fields and its population was about 10,000. For the observations, sixty measuring points were situated in and around the city. The air temperature was observed at every point with the electric thermometer mounted on the front of a bicycle at a height of 0.8m above the ground. Furthermore, the air temperature (by Assmann ventilated psychrometer) and the wind speed and direction (by biram type wind vane and anemometer) at a height of 0.9m above the ground were observed at Station A every 2 or 3 minute (Fig. 1). The results are summarized as follows : (1) The air temperature distribution curve shows the some resemblance in its form to the house density distribution curve. The air temperature distribution also shows a tendency to appear in the lee side. (2) The number of the peaks on the air temperature distribution curve correspond to that of the peaks in the house density distribution curve. The author concludes from these considerations, that firstly the air temperature distribution would be formed nearly in the same position and with the same pattern as the house density distribution, and then it would be moved, somewhat being transformed, toward the lee side by wind movement.
